Patricia Porcaro grew up on the West Coast. She earned her B.S. degree in Environmental Design at Arizona State University.
She pursued a plus size modeling career after being discovered
by BIG BEAUTIFUL WOMAN magazine editor and founder
Carole Shaw. Patricia is a world traveler and has lived abroad.
In her travels visiting the museums and archeological sites she
observed how the statues and portraits of women thru the ages celebrated the larger female form.
Back in Phoenix Arizona she worked for a major plus size
retailer, then on to own several successful business including a
ladies plus size boutique. Just like you her weight changed from
month to month, and she soon discovered that her closet was a
mix of sizes ranging from size 14-22W. "Because my weight was always changing, I was donating my clothing to charity, but there
were items that I hadn't worn with the original tags that were just
too good to give away".
Then she discovered consignment shopping, as a great way to
trade in her designer clothing that she could no longer wear,
however in "regular" consignment stores there just wasn't a good selection for the Plus size woman. "It's no fun rummaging thru racks of size 4's to find that 18W pair of pants that you need, or to be told by a shopkeeper that a size 12 is the largest size they carry! I decided that plus size gals, like myself, needed their own forum and a consignment store that JUST sold "our sizes" and understood our figure concerns would be a great idea.
And that is how GODDESS PLUS SIZE CONSIGNMENT was born.
After 8 years in business, she has found that this was a needed
service and women from the Tri-state area agree! Patricia brings to
Connecticut this exciting concept for the plus size woman,
an upscale plus size consignment store for women of size, who like herself love fashion and a great bargain!
She invites all her fellow goddesses to join her in the adventure.
